Power To The Workers? - Enron

Former Enron employees backed by the Reverend Jesse Jackson appealed to a US bankruptcy court Thursday for the employee severance cap of $15,000 to be increased to $30,000.

Enron filed for bankcruptcy in December and there is growing discontent among former low level employees at the substantial bonus payments made to senior executives immediately prior to the corporate's collapse.

Enron continues to operate under bankruptcy protection at present, with current officials still hoping that the business can emerge as a going concern in some form in the near future.
