Life's A Gas At Dynegy

Energy merchant Dynegy are believed to be on the verge of embarking on an aggressive spending spree in Europe. The ambitious Houston based corporate is said to be planning to buy further power generation capacity in Europe and wants to add to its recent acquisition of the £430m Yorshire gas storage unit from BG.

Dynegy attempted to rescue the much larger Enron energy group late last year and, since the merger talks collapsed, are thought to have looked to hire a number of former Enron employees in an attempt to capture a share of the failed giant's business.
