Mack has hired Jeff Peek from Merrill Lynch to head up asset management and he is now busy looking at all aspects of the business. Peek is a man with a mission and is thought to want to beef up the businesses both in the UK and the US to compete effectively with UBS and Merrills. CSFB now aim to be one of the top three financial services companies in the world.
Expect a radical shake-up before too long.

Credit Suisse Asset Management is now the institutional and mutual fund asset management arm of CSFB. That makes John Mack the overall boss.
