For the three months to December 2001, the Australian economy grew by 1.3%, by far the best performance of any of it's nearby trading rivals.
Federal Treasurer Peter Costello called the growth 'remarkable' and predicted that the country's economy had turned the corner. He stated 'I'd say the worst in the international environment is over, and Australia survived the worst.'
Australia Shows The Way
After years of being in the doldrums, Australia is now experiencing excellent economic growth.
