Enron has been sending current or former employees who need assistance to Washington based law firm, Swidler Berlin Shereff Friedman and attorney Eli Gottesdiener claimed that this was merely an effort by the company to influence any future testimony.
The judge, however, upheld Enron's claim that using one law firm was simply more practical and easier for employees.
The ruling only applies to those who are not direct targets of investigators. Any employee wishing to obtain independent counsel is free to do so.
Enron Wins Ruling
A federal judge in New York ruled on Friday that former Enron employees can be represented by a single law firm to provide information to federal officials looking into the demise of the former energy giant.
