Standard Chartered In Fight For BCA

Indonesia's State Enterprise Minister confirmed Tuesday that he hoped to announce the winning bid for a majority stake in Bank Central Asia (BCA) later this week.

The Indonesian government had to bail out BCA after it ran into difficulties and has been looking to dispose of it's 51% stake for some time.

The two remaining bidders are British based emerging markets bank Standard Chartered and US investment company Farallon.

Standard Chartered is thought to be the favourite in the race to acquire the bank.
