Citibank Queried AIB Trades In 2000

It is now believed that independent investigator Eugene Ludwig uncovered evidence that suggested that officials from Citibank queried certain of rogue trader John Rusnak's deals as far back as April 2000.

Staff at Citibank inquired about a large monthly settlement of trades as that time, but the matter was not properly followed up by Allfirst management.

AIB and Allfirst officials are thought to have been satisfied that there was no cause for concern. It is now thought that more diligent research into this matter may have resulted in Rusnak's unauthorized trades coming to light earlier.
