Temp Involved In Insider Dealing

Chad Conner, a 37 year old former Morgan Keegan broker, has been convicted in a New York court on 84 counts of insider trading, conspiracy and bribery.

Conner was found guilty of passing confidential merger information to friends and clients who made over $4m from illegal activity. Two of his friends were also convicted.

The tips were passed to Conner by another friend, James Cooper, who, himself, received information from a part-time clerical worker employed as a temporary employee at CSFB and Goldman Sachs.

The temp, John Freeman, stole information about 30 deals from the two investment banks between 1997-2000. Cooper and Freeman previously pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentence.
