World Cup To Be Shown In Church

The Reverend Stephen Girling has thought up a novel idea in order to boost attendence figures for sermons at his Stubbington, Hampshire, church.

He is going to show England's first World Cup match against Sweden all the end of the Sunday service. The England match kicks off at 10.30am on the 2nd June.

The match will be shown in the church hall, which can accomodate up to 200 people.

Girling hopes that people who initially come for the football can be encouraged to become regular church-goers.
