The agreement with Deloitte will be taken badly by executives at KPMG, who were still hoping to strike a deal with Andersen's UK arm following the recent breakdown of global merger talks between the two firms.
The Andersen name will be dropped in the UK.
Deloitte does not expect major jobs cuts as a result of the agreement, which has been approved by Andersen's 500 and Deloitte's 372 UK partners.

Arthur Andersen's UK affiliate has now agreed to merge with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. 5,800 people are to move across to join Deloitte.
