Asif Butt was a compliance officer at the London office of CSFB until he was dismissed after the City of London Police fraud squad announced that it would be launching an investigation into an alleged spread-betting ring.
It is alleged that Butt is one of a group of individuals who took advantage of inside information to make millions by laying bets at City spread-betting firms.
If charged and found guilty, Butt will no doubt be barred from working again in the City.
Some investment banks have now forbidden employees to participate in spread-betting.

The Sunday Times reports that a CSFB employee responsible for compliance issues has emerged as a central figure in a £2m insider-dealing probe.
