Horlick To Net £6m

When 'Superwoman' Nicola Horlick fell out with Deutsche Morgan Grenfell a few years back it didn't take her long to find her feet. In 1997 she set up SG Asset Management UK with two former Deutsche collegues. Now she is set to net around £6m for her 8% stake in the company.

Keith Percy and John Richards, both from Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, were co-founders of the business with Ms Horlick and maintain similar equity stakes.

The parties have agreed a minimum £15 a share valuation with parent company Societe Generale, which works out around £6m each. Although the shares are locked in and can only be sold in small amounts, the minimum valuation means that it will only be a matter of time before Horlick and friends benefit from the business they created.

The asset manager currently has around £8.2bn under management.
