HSBC Broker Charged

The Evening Standard reports that Ian Stone, a 24 year old HSBC broker, has been charged by police in connection with last week's riot which followed Millwall's defeat by Birmingham in a Nationwide First Division Play-Off Semi-Final.

Stone was released on bail on Monday night and ordered to surrender his passport. He will not now be able to travel to the World Cup and has been barred from attending football matches at least until his court appearance with two others on May 14th.

Almost 100 police officers were injured in the violent clashes that followed the game. HSBC confirmed to the Standard that they employed an Ian Stone but would not comment further. They are now understood to have started an investigation.
