Cazenove Cuts Jobs

Reuters reports that investment bank Cazenove has confirmed that it is to close its Sydney, Bangkok and Kuala Lumper offices as it restructures its Asia businesses with the loss of 40 jobs in the region.

The 40 layoffs are thought to include 15 jobs in Hong Kong, 15 in Sydney and the rest in rep offices in Bangkok and Kuala Lumper. Corporate finance has not been affected by the review, but the decision will effect staff in research, equity sales and operations.

It is thought that Cazenove will have around 75 staff in the region, ex Japan, after the restructure has taken place.
