ABN Two Jump Ship Now

Reuters reports that two highly rated ABN Amro fund managers have announced that they will leave the firm immediately, despite their earlier agreement to serve out their one year notice period.

George Luckcraft, who headed up the bank's Equity Income Fund, and Nigel Thomas, who ran the All Companies Fund, resigned a few weeks ago and intended to take up their new posts at Framlington early next year.

Both fund managers have now confirmed that they indend to leave straightaway. In a statement the two said: 'Certain actions taken by ABN AMRO have caused an irrevocable breakdown in our working relationship and have made our positions untenable.'

Framlington is thought to be surprised about the developments.

Thomas and Luckraft hold the number one position in their respective sectors as rated by Citywire Funds Indsider ranking.
