Deutsche And Bear Stearns In Court

Institutional Investor.com reports that Bear Sterns and Deutsche Bank were in a New York State Supreme Court last week attempting to resolve a dispute over three fixed-income analysts.

Marion Boucher Soper, Joe Princiotta and Ann Maysek all left Bear Stearns more then two months ago, but they have yet to join their new employer, Deutsche Bank.

The reason for the dispute remains unclear, although Institutional Investor advises that it could relate in part to the little matter of which firm's name will appear alongside an analyst should any one of the three feature in the Institutional Investor All-America Fixed-Income Research team awards. All three analysts made the team last year.

This writer feels that it is more likely that Bear Stearns is unhappy that it lost three top rated analysts to a competitor and is determined to keep them to the notice period provisions in their contracts.
