ABN Amro To Merge

The Evening Standard reports that ABN Amro's fund management arm is to merge with rival Artemis. The new company, which will take the Artemis name, will have funds under management of around £2bn.

Dutch parent, ABN Bank, will own 58% of the new entitiy, Artemis 37% and the balance by private investors. The two funds are expected to be merged within 6 months.

There is thought to be no immediate threat to jobs in either company.
