The cuts are thought to be in addition to the 700-800 jobs already announced and are thought to be concentrated on back office support functions. The bank hopes to acheive the reductions in headcount by natural wastage.

FT.com reports that Credit Suisse is set to cut up to 500 jobs in its private banking operations as part of a restructure of the business.
