More Defections At HSBC

Bloomberg reports that HSBC has lost a further three analysts, who covered European media stocks, together with a specialist equity salesperson.

Head of team Charles Peacock and analysts Julie Laing and Bridie Barrett have all resigned and left the firm. There is no indication at present as to where they will resurface.

The bank is believed to have lost around 120 people in its investment bank to rivals in recent months. It is also thought to have fired another 160.

Five of the bank's insurance analysts quit at the end of May and in April at least 11 analysts and sales people left to work for rival firms.
