Ms Barton, a 52 year-old Australian, walked out of the company in December 1999 as she was disgusted by her treatment. She claims that two more junior collegues earned double the amount she did just because they were men.
She will claim sexual discrimination, victimisation, unequal pay and constructive dismissal.
The case will be carefully watched by the City, coming hot on the heels of the recent £1.4m compensation awarded to analyst Julie Bower in a sexual discrimination case against Schroder Securities, now part of Citigroup.
Media Analyst Claims Unfair Dismissal
The Guardian reports that former media analyst Louise Barton has taken Investec Henderson Crossthwaite to an industrial tribunal claiming sexual discrimination.
