If you've been waiting for a proper sportscar which marries performance with eco sensibilities then your wait is over. Porsche has set the price for its 918 Spyder.
The 918 Spyder is Porsche's first hybrid model. It couples a 500bhp V8 with a 218bhp electric drive system delivering a 0-62mph time of 3.2s and a top speed of 199mph. But, more crucially, it only produces 70g/km of CO2 and an mpg score of 94.
As well as being Porsche's first hybrid it's also its most expensive model ever. The cost for driving clean and fast is €645,000 (£560,120) plus VAT. Production is limited to only 918 cars and the waiting list is open now so form an orderly queue.
