If you fancy yourself as more of a scholar than a speed freak then this is how to spend your bonus. Back in 1202 Leonardo of Pisa, Fibonacci for short, brought a sequence of mathematical numbers to the western world. Previously only known to the Indians, the Fibonacci Numbers, as they're now known, are used a base for many mathematical algorithms used in market modelling and computer searching. Fibonacci published the numbers in his book the Liba Abaci.
On June 22nd Bonhams, New York, will be auctioning one of the few remaining copies of the Liba Abaci at their “Fine Books and Manuscripts” event. This piece of mathematical history is expected to fetch north of $100,000.
