Looking for somewhere new and funky to stay the next time you are in Paris? We think this is it.

"Le Crayon is a poetic, bucolic and artistic hotel that dares to play a game of audacious combinations: antique furniture is twisted into works of everyday art, styles are mixed, genres are mixed... Le Crayon is a patchwork of ideas illustrated through the rich and continuous dialogue between materials and colours within the 27 rooms, all of them different, all of them unique."

The mixture of colours, textures, furnitures, and styles, all brought together by artist Julie Gauthron, create Paris' newest boutique hotel with a whole lot of edge. Julie has created a vibrant and interesting place to stay in Paris, you can follow the design to reality process on the Le Crayon Facebook page.

For special discounts, book your stay on Le Crayon's Facebook page.

We just love that even Julie's children were involved in creating this quirky hotel.

Five of the Best

Things we love, things we want, things we want to do, and things we think are just cool, interesting, or at least noteworthy.

  1. Awesome, overnight hair rollers are back! (It's so 1985 all over again.) Only now they're available in different shades to, well, match your hair. Whatever. You'll look great in the morning.
  2. At a loss for Father's Day (16th June)? If he likes Burgers & Beer, Cheese & Ale or Steaks & Wine, then click here.
  3. Summering in England got you down? Relish in these weekend spots. You'll be putting in for a transfer to New York in no time.
  4. If you wish you lived in a luxurious, hip barns like we do, then you'll want to click here to find out about renting one for a self-catering holiday.
  5. We haven't exactly fact-checked this Abercrombie & Fitch slam, but we're certainly open to it (and think you should be, too).
