SLJ In Attack Of The Clones

...is not who you'd expect.

It's Samuel L Jackson. L is for Leroy. From Pulp Fiction to Snakes on a Plane, the actor's films have grossed $7.4 billion dollars.

We so did not see that coming.

A very entertaining Guardian article talks about how this happened:

Step one: Never stop making films

(See: More than 100 films.)

Step two: Find a franchise and dig your heels in

(See: Star Wars and the films featuring Marvel Comic's Nick Fury.)

Step three: No part is too small if the film is big enough

(See: Jurrasic Park)

Step four: Kick back and relax every now and then

(See: a few films you've never heard of.)

Step five: Everybody loves a badass

(See: Samuel L Jackson)

Five of the Best

Things we love, things we want, things we want to do, and things we think are just cool, interesting, or at least noteworthy.

  1. An idea for your next rendezvous in Paris (or crazy weekend with friends): a private cruise in a motorboat for three hours of Champagne-fueled romance (or fun).
  2. While we are rarely ones to turn down a charitable opportunity, how about taking that pile of spring cleaning cast-offs to a car boot sale? We're pretty sure you could get a new handbag out of the proceeds...
  3. We're loving this bold, striped tie from Paul Stuart. The meek need not click.
  4. The coolest personalised cufflinks around are these. They include words, names or places, which run off the surface creating a rather ambiguous stream of letters. (And let's face it: a bit of mystery never hurt anyone.)
  5. We're carnivores who love a deal, so we'll be printing out this voucher, then visiting Giraffe for 2-for-1 vegetarian entrees during National Vegetarian Week (21-25 May).
