Barclays Wealth Hires Eight Investment Representatives In Chicago And Los Angeles

Barclays Wealth has announced the appointment of eight Investment Representatives to its Los Angeles and Chicago offices, as it continues to expand in the Americas.

Los Angeles

Lisa Amster joins Barclays Wealth as a Director from Goldman Sachs where she worked for the past ten years. Most recently, Ms. Amster was a private wealth advisor in the Markets Coverage Group, a multi asset-class sales and trading desk catering to the complex needs of ultra high net worth individuals and families. Prior to the Markets Coverage Group, Ms. Amster covered small cap stocks in Goldman's equity research department. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.

Audra Lalley joins Barclays Wealth as a Vice President from Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. Ms. Lalley has more than 20 years of experience at both Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, managing money for high net worth individuals and families. Prior to entering wealth management, Ms. Lalley worked at GE Capital as a Loan Portfolio Analyst and KPMG as a Financial Institutions Consultant. She holds a B.A. from William and Mary, and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. Ms. Lalley serves on the Board of Kids of Kilimanjaro, an organization that provides school lunches for children in Tanzania. She is also the President of the L.A. Chapter of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Alumni Association and is a three-time Ironman triathlete.

Mark T. Lindee joins Barclays Wealth's Los Angeles office as a Managing Director from Wells Fargo, bringing over 20 years of wealth management experience to the firm. Lindee joined his predecessor firm in 2009 as part of its acquisition of Wachovia Securities, where he had worked since 2005, specializing in managing equity portfolios (based on his own proprietary research) for ultra high net worth clients and select institutions. Prior to Wells Fargo, he held wealth management positions at Citigroup (previously Salomon Smith Barney), Schroders and Morgan Stanley. Lindee holds a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Kevin Monaco joins Barclays Wealth as a Director in Los Angeles from Credit Suisse Private Banking. He brings with him more than15 years of experience in wealth management, most recently as a relationship manager serving high net worth families and individuals. Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2005, Monaco held wealth management roles at Deutsche Bank (Alex.Brown), CIBC Oppenheimer and Smith Barney. Monaco holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. He serves on the Board and Executive Committee of Crestwood Hills Co-Operative Pre-School.

David Garfin joins the firm as a Vice President from Credit Suisse Private Banking, where he was a relationship manager serving high net worth families and individuals. Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2005, Garfin was a financial advisor at Oppenheimer and its predecessor firm in both New York and Los Angeles for ten years. He holds a B.A. in Behavioral Science from the University of Wisconsin.

All five Investment Representatives report to Brian Sears, Regional Manager for Los Angeles.

Chicago

In addition to the five Investment Representatives in the Los Angeles office, Barclays Wealth has hired Stuart Buck, William Scherr and David Yaccino from Goldman Sachs, as a team in the Chicago office.

Stuart Buck joins Barclays Wealth as a Director bringing with him more than 25 years of industry experience. Buck joined Goldman Sachs in 1987, where as a private wealth advisor, he specialized in asset allocation, equity investment management strategies and philanthropic solutions. Buck holds a B.Ed. from Chester College of Higher Education in England and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University. He is involved in fundraising in the Chicago area for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

William Scherr also joins the firm as a Director with over 20 years of wealth management experience. As a private wealth advisor at Goldman Sachs, which he joined in 1990, Scherr structured equity portfolios and oversaw portfolio management for high net worth clients, specializing in single stock risk management. He holds a B.A. from the University of Nebraska and an M.B.A. from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University. Scherr serves as the President of the Board of World Sport Chicago, the legacy organization of the Chicago 2016 Olympic bid that promotes the awareness of and participation in Olympic and Paralympic sports for the youth of Chicago. He was a member of the 1998 US Olympic Wrestling team, earning a bronze medal.

David Yaccino joins Barclays Wealth as a Director after 17 years at Goldman Sachs. As a private wealth advisor at Goldman Sachs, he focused on fixed income, cash management and alternative investment opportunities. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 1995, Yaccino was an Investment Banker at Bankers Trust within the Energy Derivatives group. He holds an A.B. in History from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Yaccino is on the Board of Visitors of Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh.

All three Investment Representatives report to Chris Williams, Regional Manager for Chicago.
