Hearn joined Mizuho International in January 2010 and, under his leadership, the Company has developed a strong European client-facing business as well as continuing to leverage and strengthen its platform in Asia. Paul has also been instrumental in the successful process of unwinding Mizuho International’s legacy asset portfolio.
Keizo Ohashi, Non-Executive Chairman of Mizuho International said: 'We are grateful to Paul for the enormous change and improvement he has brought to Mizuho International. He leaves the company with a strong European platform and placed for future growth and success. On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Paul for his significant contribution to the business and wish him every success in the future'.
Hearn said: 'Over the past two and a half years, I have very much enjoyed leading Mizuho International through a period of exciting change in establishing a European base. Whilst I feel the time is right for me to leave Mizuho in order to pursue other opportunities, in the meantime, I am focused on helping the Board find the right successor to drive this business forward'.
The Board has commenced a search for a new Chief Executive and Paul Hearn will remain in his post in the interim period.
