Iron Sky: Catch It While You Can

posted: 12 months ago

Iron Sky

In what can only be the shortest theatrical releases ever, dark, sci-fi flick, Iron Sky, opens in UK cinemas tomorrow for one day only, and becomes available on DVD this Monday.

As our busy film critic, Tim Baros, says: "Iron Sky tells the story of Nazi Germans who fled to the dark side of the moon in 1945 to escape after WWII. What have they been doing on the moon these past 70 years? Are they planning to attack Earth and take over? Meanwhile, back on Earth, a Sarah Palinesque woman is the President of the United States, and she is hoping for a war to increase her popularity. All of this, along with a huge dose of comedy, great special effects, hot and sexy actors, and a free trip to the dark side of the moon makes this film a must see, whether at your local cinema or on DVD."

Needless it say, the film makers and the film distributors are at odds with one another over this one-day release. But will it create crazy demand with audiences? (Maybe if they realise the soundtrack was done by seminal industrial band, Laibach, it will.) Many screenings are already sold out, so it'll be interesting to see how this plays off-screen drama plays out...
