It is no surprise that after an excellent season at the Liberty Stadium, Brendan Rodgers wants to re-sign Steven Caulker on another loan.
Welsh newspaper the Western Mail have reported that Harry Redknapp is ready to sanction another deal.
It is a conditional at this point, depending on Spurs securing their transfer targets, Jan Vertonghen from Ajax, and Jonas Olsson from West Brom.
Spurs already have a number of options at centre-back, including Michael Dawson, Ledley King, William Gallas, and Younes Kaboul.
If Vertonghen and Olsson are both signed, then we'd say fair enough, Spurs would have enough cover to loan out Caulker for another season.
Should just the Ajax man arrive, then they should keep the young defender, who made 26 league starts last season for Swansea.
We say this because there are question marks over both King and Gallas' ability to keep going at the top level.
Gallas is 34 and made just 15 starts last season. Redknapp should consider moving him on.
Ledley King meanwhile is 31 and played 23 times, he surely has more to offer the club, and while at times last season he played really well, at others he looked like his injuries had caught up and taken their toll on him.
Michael Dawson has struggled with injuries too, and if anything, Tottenham learned this season that the Premier League is very much a squad game.
The club made an error in allowing Steven Pienaar to leave when their midfield needed the extra numbers, and will have to be careful it does not happen again.
Spurs also have young Brazilian defender Bruno Uvini on their books, but he should be the one being loaned out to gain experience.
Caulker has done enough to prove himself, and with the Europa League set to test Tottenham's squad once again, they should look at keeping him. Surely the experience of playing in Europe would be more beneficial than playing for Swansea?
If Redknapp keeps Gallas and makes two signings, he'd be best off going on loan, but if it were up to us we'd let the Frenchman go, make one signing, and retain the promising Caulker.
What do you think Spurs should do with Caulker next season?
