It hasn’t really felt like a summer in the City though has it ? Mother Nature is providing us with wind and rain, and sadly jobs are still being lost, causing worry all round. It’s a recipe for stressed out city workers.
A recent European survey showed that the UK was in the top 10 stressed locations in Europe. Stress is affecting employees more and more and companies (hopefully yours) are starting to understand the serious impact it’s having on their employees. They are taking measures to tackle stress by including it in their wellbeing strategies or Employee Assistance Programmes.
If you are feeling stressed, do something about it today. The Bank Workers Charity (BWC) has a helpful online tool - Beating Stress Interactive, which will help you get to grips with stress. Take the test to get your personalised action plan as well as getting some useful hints and tips.
You might want to take advantage of our i-resilience tool, also available on BWC’s website. Being able to bounce back i.e. being resilient when times are tough, is also a great characteristic to have. The online tool will explain where your resilience comes from and how you can develop it, plus there is information about further support, should you need it.
Times are challenging, and it looks like it could stay this way for a while but on a positive note, there's help out there if you’re feeling the strain. Making a change could make all the difference to enjoying your summer and beyond.
