The new manager is expected to bring in many changes to the club over the summer.
One of them will be shipping in many stars to White Hart Lane in order to build a side capable enough to fight for Champions League place and compete thoroughly with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.
Gylfi Sigurdsson has been already snapped up and we are going to have a look at players who might or shall join the ex-Swansea midfielder at the club.
1) Ezekiel Fryers
Starting off with one of the most unpredictable possible signings of the summer. According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to bring in Manchester United’s promising left back, Ezekiel Fryers.
Fryers might not be capable of making an immediate impact at the club and might severely anger Sir Alex Ferguson, but his signing will surely be a great investment for the future and a possible replacement for Assou Ekotto.
He can also play at centre-back, and will strengthen the club's options defensively. A fee will be established by a tribunal.
2) Hugo Lloris
With Brad Friedel reaching the twilight of his career and no decent young back-up ‘keeper present in their ranks, AVB is determined to buy a good replacement for ageing American.
This search has led the ex-Chelsea manager to Lyon’s Hugo Lloris. The latter has gradually evolved into one of the best goalkeepers in the world and with the club willing to let him go for the ‘right price’ - £15 million - a deal could be struck between the two clubs.
In all fairness, if Spurs do manage to snap up the French international, they will surely be on the road for a return to the Champions League, but rivals Arsenal are also interested in his signature.
Internacional midfielder, Oscar has claimed that Tottenham Hotspurs have contacted his agent over a possible transfer for the 20-year-old.
It has been suggested that Villas-Boas has made the Brazilian international his prime target to replace the outgoing Luka Modric.
Even though Oscar will be an ideal Spurs signing, it is unlikely to see the club putting in a bid that will match Internacional’s market value of the player of £20-million pounds, and the clubs may have to compromise to reach a deal.
4) Jan Vertonghen
The ‘Vertonghen to Spurs’ saga might be finally coming to an end, with reports suggesting that the parties are ‘close’ to sealing the deal and an official announcement could be made soon.
Vertonghen's arrival will add much needed stability and organization to Spurs’ defence, which often struggled in the past due to injuries to Michael Dawson, William Gallas, and Ledley King
The Belgium international is a no-nonsense player, capable of shutting down attackers in a matter of seconds and also adding attacking impetus to the team with his abilities to score from set-pieces.
5) Lassana Diarra
Another player AVB is eyeing to strengthen the midfield is Real Madrid ‘outcast’ Lassana Diarra. According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are ready to provide the French international with a chance to revive his career and play a pivotal role in taking the club back to Europe’s biggest stage.
Diarra has been a monumental disappointment for Real Madrid since his switch from then- Premier League club Portsmouth, being unable to break through into the first team over the past four seasons.
His departure could come as part of a deal to sell Luka Modric to the Spanish giants.
Which of these five is most key for Spurs to sign?
