Five facts about new Fulham signing Sascha Riether

What can we tell you about him?

1) Riether signs from Cologne, who were relegated from the Bundesliga last season. He was a teammate of new Arsenal signing Lukas Podolski. 

2) He is 29-years-old and has previously played for Wolfsburg, where he made more than 100 appearances, and Freiburg. 

3) He is a versatile player who can play in central midfield, right midfield, and right-back. The majority of his performances last season came as a centre-midfielder. 

4) It will not be the first time Riether has been to Craven Cottage; he was part of the Wolfsburg team beaten 2-1 by Fulham in the Europa League quarter-final first leg in 2010. Upon joining the club he said the 'great fans' were one of his standout memories. 

5) Riether is a full German international, with two caps to his name. The most recent was a start in a win over Azerbaijan in 2010.
