What can we tell you about him?
1. Born in Nairobi in 1991 the Kenyan midfield player for the youth setups at hometown clubs Nairobi City Stars and AFC Leopards before heading to Sweden to sign with Helsingborgs and start his European football dream.
2. Wanyama’s older brother is fellow Kenyan international and current Inter Milan based centre midfield player McDonald Mariga.
3. The robust midfielder made his international debut aged just 15 in a friendly against Nigeria and has since gone on to make 29 appearances for the Harambee Stars scoring the solitary goal.
4. Victor’s first appearance in European football came in the Belgian top flight with Beerschot AC in 2009. A tough tackling midfield player he has got himself in trouble in the past; being fined after a horror challenge on Matias Suarez of Anderlecht in 2009 and a 3 match ban after elbowing an opponent in 2011 before signing for Celtic in the same year.
5. After becoming a fan favourite with his consistent performances at Celtic Park he has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal and Manchester United this summer.
