Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, QPR, and Sunderland are the talk of the papers today.

All the transfer news and gossip you need to know from the last 24 hours...

Tottenham Hotspur are big admirers of Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao - who has so far scored six goals at the Olympic games - but his performances have seen interest rocket from other clubs and his price tag likely increase. We mentioned yesterday Tottenham would only have themselves to blame  if the big boys come calling for him, and that is what looks like happening. The Mail report today that Manchester City are poised to bid for the 23-year-old. They are also close to offloading Roque Santa Cruz to Werder Bremen, and have offered a trial to 20-year-old UAE midfielder Omar Abdulrahman after impressing at the Olympics.

Former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze has emerged as a shock target for QPR. The battling defender is currently at Roma, and his on-pitch attitude could be described as similar to manager Mark Hughes. The Metro also report that QPR have lodged a bid for Sunderland midfielder Kieran Richardson, who appears in need of resurrecting his career and you imagine a move back home down south would be good for him.

Wolves striker Steven Fletcher has handed in a transfer request after becoming fed up at his club pricing him out of the market. He confirmed it to his followers on Twitter yesterday adding that his 'head was gone' and wanted to be honest with the fans. Sunderland and Aston Villa have both been linked, but Wolves are said to want a minimum of £10 million for the striker who scored 12 goals last season in the Premier League.

Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles could leave the club after just one season, it is being reported, with Napoli keen on signing him. The Italian side are ready to meet Chelsea's £8 million valuation and offer him a new start in Serie A. Meanwhile teenage midfield prospect Josh McEachran is wanted on loan by both Bolton and Blackburn.

Tottenham's search for a potential replacement for Luka Modric has taken a new twist, with them reportedly being priced out of the market for Joao Moutinho. So the Mirror claim Spurs have turned to Mohamed Kamara, a midfielder who plays for Partizan Belgrade. The 24-year-old Sierra Leone international could cost around £12 million.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted Daniel Agger can leave - If the price is right. He says he would prefer to keep the defender, but is wise that every player has his price and the club would have to strongly consider any mega-money offer from Manchester City.
