Alvaro Pereira has completed a move to Inter Milan. The versatile Uruguayan full back has agreed a deal with the Nerazzuri. The controversial player has been previously linked with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United but turned down an offer from Napoli to make his ‘dream’ move to the Giuseppe Meazza.
Fiorentina have made it very clear that there will be no sale involving star player Stevan Jovetic. The Montenegrin forward increased his stock with a brilliant double against Udinese this weekend but now appears to stay in Florence amidst rumoured interest from Juventus and Premier League sides Liverpool and Manchester City.
Staying in Italy and several deals have been completed in the past few days with Lazio perhaps making the biggest impression by agreeing a deal to sign Michael Ciani arrive at the club. The one cap French international signs for the capital club on a 4 year deal from French side Bordeaux ending interest from SPL Champions Celtic.
Napoli have signed Belgian-Moroccan sensation Omar El Kaddouri, and immediately compared him to Zinedine Zidane in his playing style. The 22-year-old signed a co-ownership deal from Brescia.
Meanwhile after sensationally defeating AC Milan at the San Siro this weekend Sampdoria have completed a transfer triumph to follow with the signing of Danish winger Simon Poulsen. The 27-year-old, who can also play at left back, arrives in Genoa on a free transfer from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar. Whilst Sampdoria also seem set to sign former West Brom midfield player Enzo Maresca from financially flailing Spanish side Malaga.
Another player formerly based in the Midlands to agree a move recently is Walter Pandiani. The former Birmingham striker has signed for Villarreal as The Yellow Submarine attempt to win promotion back to La Liga.
Former Premier League favourite Steed Malbranque has ended his hiatus from football and joined French giants Lyon. The former Sunderland and Fulham midfielder has been without a club for over a year since leaving St Etienne. He was originally reported to have retired but this recent news appears to quash those rumours. Fabian Monzon has also arrived at the Stade Gerland, the Argentine left back moved in a swap deal with Jonathan Pied from Nice.
Ibrahim Afellay’s agent has confirmed his client is seeking a loan move away from the Nou Camp for the upcoming season as he seeks regular first team football. The Dutch international has struggled with injury in his 18 month stint in Spain and the news will be welcome received across Europe including in the Premier League.
And continuing with their recent trend Zenit St Petersburg has once again been unsuccessful in their move for one of Europe’s brightest talents. Greek centre back Kyriakos Papadopolous has been the centre of their admiration on this occasion but the one time Manchester United and AC Milan target looks set to stay in Gelsenkirchen for the foreseeable future.
