Gerrard is now a one in five player. He doesn't have the running power in his game anymore.Lets remember he is 32 years old and recently missed nearly a year of football through injury.
No other player of his type (Keane,Vieria) gets better in their 30s. Its nonsense to think we'll see the 2005 vintage Gerrard again. Rodgers is no fool and is already planning for team without Gerrard with Joe Allen as the focal point of the midfield.
The game against Man City was an excellent performance and very nearly a great result all achieved with Gerrard a peripheral figure.
Gerrard has never been a play maker in the Alonso mould he was a crash, bang, wallop force of nature. You may not like hearing it but Gerrards days are numbered.
