All the Liverpool news and gossip from the last 24 hours.

Liverpool play the second leg of their Europa League tie against Hearts tonight, kicking off at 8.05pm at Anfield, and Adam Morgan starts up front. Their line-up is Reina; Kelly, Skrtel, Carragher, Downing; Henderson, Allen, Gerrard; Suarez, Shelvey, Morgan, with substitutes bench of Jones, Coates, Johnson, Agger, Enrique, Sterling, Borini.

Despite Sam Allardyce 'conceding defeat' to sign Andy Carroll earlier in the day, Liverpool have confirmed the player has joined West Ham on a season long loan.

Bolton have agreed a six-month loan for Liverpool midfielder, Jay Spearing. It had been thought that there were a number of teams linked with a permanent deal for the 23-year-old but Spearing has made it clear that he still sees his future at Anfield.

According to SkySports.com, Liverpool target Ibrahim Afellay appears to be on the brink of a season-long loan to Bundesliga side, Schalke. The 26 year old Barcelona winger has experienced a torrid time at Nou Camp and will look to use this deal to push his way back into Villanova’s plans after a year.

With talks on-going regarding the possible capture of Clint Dempsey from Fulham, Liverpool have offered several out-of-favour players as makeweights in the deal. With Dempsey seemingly desperate for a move to Anfield and Martin Jol looking to replace the losses of Danny Murphy and Moussa Dembele, the Fulham manager seems willing to agree to a part-exchange option.

One player they may be more successful in getting rid of is Charlie Adam, after Stoke City reportedly bid £5 million for the out of favour midfielder.

Theo Walcott is not ‘obsessed by money’ according to Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger. His claims come in light of the recent dispute between the club and the player in which it was reported that Arsenal were offering the 23 year old Englishman a contract worth £75,000-a-week but the player himself demanded closer to £100,000. When asked about the situation, Wenger had this to say: ‘contrary to what some media write he is not obsessed by money, there is just a little difference we hope we can, at some stage, find an agreement with. That's it basically.’

Liverpool have agreed a fee with Bayer Leverkusen for the highly rated German striker, Samed Yesil. The 18-year-old came to prominence with his performances at the Under-17 World Cup last year where he scored six goals. If completed, Yesil will become Rodgers’ fourth signing of the season but more transfer activity is expected in the coming days.

And finally, we've taken a look at seven options for Joe Cole ahead of the transfer window.
