De Vitis will report directly to Melanie Czarra, who heads the team.
Commenting on the hire, Czarra said: 'I am delighted to have such an established leader in the market on board to join Richard Tarn in driving the expansion of our bond platform in the SSA sector. This appointment further emphasises that Mizuho is not shy to hire talent from top tier houses as it strives to build out its five core currency business in Fixed Income'.
De Vitis joined Mizuho International’s European Primary Debt Markets team from Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank where he was responsible for Sovereigns, Agencies and Supranational debt origination. Raffaele has over 13 years of Investment Banking and Debt Capital Markets experience and has also held a variety of roles at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and UBS Investment Bank. Together with Richard Tarn, Raffaele will co-lead the unit focused on public sector borrowers.
