RBS has announced the appointment of Pippa Crawford as Head of its western European Loan Markets Origination team within the Markets & International Banking (M&IB) division in London.

She will also have responsibility for Loan Syndicate and Sales and will report to Richard Bartlett, Head of Corporate DCM & Risk Solutions, EMEA.

Since 2011, Ms Crawford has been a member of the Loan Markets management team and the Global Loans Co-ordinator within RBS M&IB, with responsibility for facilitating and executing cross-border transactions and enhancing global interaction. She has significant M&A related experience and has worked on such notable transactions as CKI’s acquisition of E.ON’s UK distribution assets – the largest investment by an Asian corporate in the UK.

Ms Crawford has extensive loan experience including investment grade, leverage and project finance. From 2008 to 2011, she was an Executive Director in the UK origination team within the loan markets business. Prior to that, she spent two years as a Director in the European Loan Origination team with specific oversight of clients in the UK and Nordic regions. Between 2003 and 2005, she worked in European Loan Markets, Sales and Syndicate teams for RBS. She began her career with the Greenwich NatWest Loan Syndications team in 1998.

Commenting on the appointment, Richard Bartlett said: 'Pippa is a highly experienced originator who has also held syndicate and sales positions during her career. She brings broad sector knowledge to this role with particular insight of energy and natural resources. Her promotion will reinforce our existing strength in the loans space in western Europe'.

The appointment is with immediate effect.
