As a child I looked forward to Christmas as the most wonderful time of the year; opening presents and on Boxing Day playing Chelsea. The fixture is still the first one I look out for and it’s here this Saturday and I can’t wait.
At the game last season the atmosphere was the best I’ve ever been to at Loftus road; and no matter what anyone says, it got to the Chelsea players with them ending the game with nine men.
The one thing I hope this game isn’t remembered for is Anton Ferdinand against John Terry with Ashley Cole getting involved. To me no player or players are bigger than the team; it’s not just about the individuals.
All I’ve read about for the past 24 hours is the ‘handshake’ and will or won’t it happen. I really don’t care if it does or not; I’m not going to watch that but I am going to watch what will hopefully be a great game of football.
I can see Mark Hughes giving a couple of debuts; M’bia at the back along with Cesar in goal. Granero will also make his home debut and I can see him running the midfield.
Last season little old QPR were not expected to beat big spending Chelsea but we did and I have to say I think a cloud took me out of the ground that day.
Both teams have changed since that game and both for the better; the lad Hazard looks a good player and will be dangerous.
The weak link in the Chelsea team to me is ‘Sideshow Bob’ or David Luiz as he’s better known; when the atmosphere was as good as it was last year he looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights.
Two players that I think will help QPR win the game; and yes I really do think we’ll win. First at the back is Ryan Nelsen; a player not afraid to put his foot in where necessary. Torres won’t like getting tackled by the tough New Zealand captain and that’s what I want to see.
The second player I would say could tear the Chelsea defence apart is Cisse; the man is a beast. Sideshow Bob won’t be able to handle him by himself that’s for sure.
I can see QPR taking the lead through Cisse with Hazard getting the equaliser only for Bobby Zamora to get the winner in the 86th minute.
At the end of the day I hope that football gets the headlines and nothing else, and three points for the Super Hoops of course.
What is your prediction for today's game? Is Luiz a weak link?
