Societe Generale Appoint Chief Country Officer, South Korea

Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking announces the appointment of Raphael Cheminat as Chief Country Officer South Korea, effective since September 1, 2012.

Based in Seoul, Cheminat replaces Charles Pierron who, after a long and international career, has left the bank to pursue other interests.

With a 14-year experience in the Group of which six years in Asia, Raphael Cheminat will be leading the next stage of development for Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in the South Korean market. Raphael Cheminat reports to Hikaru Ogata, CEO Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking Asia Pacific.

Biography:

Cheminat joined Societe Generale in 1998 and has held several positions within the Group. He started in the Audit department of Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking in Paris and New York, before moving to Societe Generale in Bulgaria (international retail banking activities) where he was Head of the Inspection department. He relocated to Asia in 2006 in the Compliance department covering the Global Markets’ Equity businesses.

Most recently, Cheminat was Chief of Staff to Hikaru Ogata, CEO for Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking Asia Pacific, working extensively on Asia business development initiatives with the Asia Pacific Executive Committee and on Chief Country Officer policy matters across Asia including Korea. Raphael Cheminat holds an Engineer degree from Ecole
