As sales of e-reading devices rise, Schools.com ask the question "Are books going to become an endangered species?"

Once upon a time the only choice we had to make was to purchase the hardback or the paperback. Now with an ever rising range of e-readers on the market, with their light weight, slimline, portable and limitless access to authors, is there still any need for the humble printed book?

According to the info-graphic, printed books are still ahead of e-books in sales, although interestingly those of us who own e-readers read on average 9 more books than those reading printed books.

Are you still reading printed books or are they indeed a thing of the past?
