Ali Khalpey has been appointed Head of South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa Equities, expanding his current South Africa role to the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa.
Previously, Khalpey, who joined Renaissance in January 2010, was Head of Equities, South Africa. Based in Johannesburg. He oversees the sustained growth of the Firm’s equities platform across its core markets in Africa. Khalpey maintains a dual reporting line to Clifford Sacks, CEO of Renaissance Capital in Africa, and Yonatan Gozdanker, Global Head of Equities.
In Nairobi, Stanley Kariuki has been appointed as Head of Equities, Kenya. Kariuki joined Renaissance Capital in 2011 as an equity trader, and since then has led regional client coverage. In his new role, he will oversee the local team, ensuring that trading and operations in the region are of the highest quality and effectiveness.
Gozdanker said: 'These appointments will drive execution, co-ordination and management of client coverage on a cross-regional and cross-functional basis, enabling the Firm to continue growing its market share and dominance'.
