I think that Arsenal fans can certainly take heart from the result against Manchester City yesterday - for me, it certainly appears that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that the new team is beginning to gel very well, and as Wenger said after the game, has the right attitude.
Yesterday’s game was as tough as it gets…against the reigning champions in their own back yard it could easily have ended up in misery for the Gooners.
However, although the likes of Podolski failed to get on the score sheet, Koscielny, who has become a bit of a revelation in recent performances before his injury, popped up and levelled things off.
For the Gunners it was definitely a valuable point won, whilst for City, definitely two points lost.
Wenger said after the game that: "It’s now down to how much we improve, how well we keep that attitude [if we are to win the title]. If we keep that attitude, I think we have a chance."
“Attitude and consistency will make the end result. Let’s see after 38 games.”
This for me is a level headed attitude to adopt - too often we have been caught out after making brash statements, but this time I think that they are balanced. Hopefully attitude will translate into goals, and goals into wins.
We have Chelsea at the weekend at home: another stern test, but judging by past performances this season, one that I think Arsenal could pass, and quite convincingly at that…..fingers crossed.
