Police have now identified the New Canaan, Connecticut, couple killed in an apparent murder-suicide that took place in their apartment Friday shortly before 3 p.m.

Ctpost.com reports that the victims are James Owen, 48 and his wife, Billie D. Faigout-Owen, 52.

Police said their preliminary investigation determined Owen shot his wife and then himself in the head.

Investigative journalist Teri Buhl reports that Owen worked for years at Stamford-based The Bank Street Group doing merger and acquisition and mid-marketing financing for the wireless / satellite space.

Business Insider reports that FINRA records say that from December 2001 to September 2004, Owen is listed as unemployed. Prior to that, he worked at Banc of America Securities ( 9/2000 to 1/2002 ), Lehman Brothers ( 11/1997 to 9/2000 ) and Bear Stearns ( 2/1996 to 9/1997 ), the records show.
