All the talk was about Liverpool's young team, really young, the youngest player in their history player in Jerome Sinclair. After celebrating his 16th birthday last week he came on for the final 10 minutes alongside Suso, for Samed Yesil and Dani Pacheco.
Ah yes, Dani Pacheco. Liverpool's next big star. Or so he was at one stage. That star has waned after being cast aside by both Roy Hodgson and Kenny Dalglish, and sent out on loan where he failed to really prosper at Rayo Vallecano.
At 21, a Liverpool career is not beyond him by any means, and he is being slowly integrated into the set up by manager Brendan Rodgers.
So how did he play last night against West Brom, in what was arguably his biggest chance to date for the club, remarkably making his first start for the Reds in domestic competition?
Here is a collation of comments from fans on Twitter after the game:
@dannwilliams3: Danny pacheco should deffo get more starts! Quality little player!
@connorwilsonlfc: Also like to praise Daniel Pacheco! Best performance in a Liverpool shirt for me tonight! Worked his arse off.
@androulla: Rodgers made a good few choices tonight. Pacheco played well and Sahin looked ace. The future is bright
@_moye_: Pacheco, Assaudi, Suso and Yesil have got so much potential!
@jeremymikula: Dani Pacheco had a very good game today at AM. Sometimes I think we forget he's still 21 years old as well
@davehendricktlw: Dani Pacheco is having his best ever game for Liverpool tonight. Very impressed by him.
@georgedugdale: This is probably Dani Pacheco's best performance at senior level. About time he showed his Spain form.
@rohanbhatialfc: Dani Pacheco is good as a traditional No.10. Not so much as a winger or up front alone.
@redlaw_lfc: Dani Pacheco certainly proving his doubters wrong tonight, having a great game. Shown how great his technique and vision is.
Pacheco ended his evening by handing his shirt to a disabled Liverpool fan in the stands after the game. A nice personal gesture which players rarely make, on the pitch at least. Well done to the Spaniard, and he will hope to push on from here and use the game, in which he almost scored only to be denied by the crossbar, as a catalyst to kick on further.
What did you think of Pacheco last night? Can he force his way into the first team?
