The news Wayne Rooney is in line to make his comeback from injury against Newcastle tonight will not have gone down too well with the away supporters.
This is a striker who has plagued them through the years, although an indifferent performance at St James Park in early January in a 3-0 defeat will at least give the Toon Army some encouragement.
Here is a look at Rooney's overall record against Newcastle:
Played 18, Won 11, Drawn 5, Lost 2. Goals scored - 10, Assists - 5.
In fact he has only scored more goals against three clubs, Portsmouth, Arsenal, and Aston Villa, against who he has 12 each.
And who can forget his stunning strike against the club back in 2005, to hand the club a 2-1 victory in the Premier League.
So which Wayne Rooney will see tonight if he starts? The indifferent performer who struggled against Everton on the opening weekend, or the explosive striker who has scored or provided a total of 15 goals in 18 matches against Newcastle?
Supporters will certainly hope it is the latter, showing he is ready to begin his partnership up front with Robin van Persie as soon as the visit of Tottenham this weekend.
What do you think, is this Rooney's best ever Premier League goal?
