Joe Cole made his return to Premier League action yesterday against Stoke City, coming off the Liverpool bench in the 67th minute of the game.
In a drab goalless draw, the attacker was unable to break the deadlock, and Liverpool fans left Anfield frustrated. But what did they make of Cole's contribution?
Here is a snapshot of opinions from Twitter...
@seanrana: Has Joe Cole's missile ball landed yet? #LFC
@musker_lfc: Huge question mark over why the hell Joe Cole was bought on above Borini, Assaidi or Henderson & push Gerrard forward. Poor decision. #LFC
@cbyrne25: Seeing joe cole play for #LFC makes me feel sick #NotGoodEnough
@fit4thabo: An where is Joe Cole? A tired Suso was still more effective than an unfit Joe Cole surely? #LFC
@jam_lfc: To those fans blaming the draw on Joe Cole. Get a grip. He actually worked hard when he came on
@oli_fell: In all honesty, I think Joe Cole will be released next year and @suso30fernandez should take the number 10 shirt...
@stephen1martin: Joe Cole? If you didn't laugh you'd cry.
@chy_buzz: Joe Cole should be sold with immediate effect! #LFC
@letstalk_lfc: Joe Cole actually played half decent before his howler of what he calls a "volley". #LFC #LIVSTK
@the_lfc_ant: And Joe Cole wasn't bad when he came in. not so good, but just okay. #LFC
@markcowley1: My only criticism of Brendan Rodgers is his faith in Joe Cole. That embarrassing hoof into the Kop summed him up #LFC
@adamroche: Loving the Joe Cole action When he came on. Could be interesting midfield if he stays fit #lfc
@dousty_lfc: Note to Rodgers: Suso did more in 60 minutes today than Joe Colein his entire #LFC career. Once Cole came on we looked rubbish.
@davebunting81: #lfc fans slagging Joe Cole off? Played well last season, start looking at the whole team rather than one scapegoat.
What's your verdict? Is it too soon to judge him?
