1) Son is a striker who can also play on the wing. He is 20 and plays for German side Hamburg.
2) He became the youngest ever Hamburg player to score in the Bundesliga two years ago, at just 18 when he netted against Cologne.
3) This season he has scored four goals in seven games for his club, including a brace in a 3-2 win over champions Borussia Dortmund.
4) He is a second generation footballer, his father was also a South Korean international star.
5) His performances have been recognised by the South Korean national team, and he has been featuring in their World Cup qualifying campaign.
