Wayne Rooney has spoken out on the latest hot topic, the FA's planned code of conduct for footballers on Twitter. The issue has come to light after Ashley Cole's outburst last week.
Rooney said: "It is a good way for the fans to see a different side of you, away from football.
"But you obviously know everything you put on there is seen by everyone who follows you.
“It will be in the newspapers the next day so you have to be careful."
But hold on? Is this the same Wayne Rooney who was...
1) Gloating at Cristiano Ronaldo's winner against City for Real Madrid
2) Retweeted a post, describing City's empty seats against Dortmund 'A joke'
3) Mocked the Toure brothers defeat for Ivory Coast to Zambia in the African Nations Cup
Perhaps this latest incident with Cole will see Rooney change his ways. While its good to see him acknowledge his responsibilities as a footballer and public figure, his actions will speak louder than his words.
