Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with German under-21 midfielder Patrick Herrmann. The £7.5 million rated starlet currently plays for Borussia Moenchengladbach and is also being chased by Inter Milan. The player is said to have been identified as a younger, cheaper alternative to Joao Moutinho, whose move to Spurs now looks to be well and truly off.
Reported Spurs target Isco scored for Spain's under-21s last night, in a 5-0 win over Denmark. However it was former Bolton loanee Rodrigo who hit the headlines, scoring four times.
Former striker Gary Lineker has stated Spurs must qualify for the Champions League this season. The Match of the Day presenter also added he was 'bemused' by Harry Redknapp's sacking, and also questioned the clubs summer transfer dealings.
Tom Huddlestone has spoken of his determination to win a regular spot in the club's midfield, after a slow start to the season for the club. He described his injury as 'depressing' but adds he is keen to get back into the first team.
HITC's Nick Harris is asking if Tottenham should make Ajax star Christian Eriksen their number one transfer target for January. A former teammate of Vertonghen, Eriksen would add a more central attacking threat from midfield, to compliment Lennon and Bale out wide. However he would likely cost in the region of £20 million.
Chelsea' Branislav Ivanovic has again spoken of his determination to continue Chelsea's excellent start to the season, by winning against Spurs next weekend. The defender also added that because Villas-Boas is now Tottenham manager, the Blues 'know what to expect'.
